For the midterm of MFA Visual Narratives SP25 session of Folktale and Myth, we were tasked with picking a story/myth that was originally born of the oral storytelling tradition, and visualizing it. I wanted to explore the accessibility and interactivity of digital picture books. This form of digital storytelling allows for control of pacing, delivery, and mimics the interactivity that was often encountered in the oral storytelling traditions of Ireland.
I felt Children of Lir has a classic structure, and its themes of transformation worked well for this medium.
